PriceScout LLC

usepricescout.com

Effective Date: March 8, 2026 | Last Updated: March 8, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how PriceScout LLC, a California limited liability company ("PriceScout," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with your use of the PriceScout website located at usepricescout.com (the "Site"), any associated browser extension (the "Extension"), and all related services, features, and content offered by PriceScout (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, you must not access or use the Service. We may update this Policy from time to time, and we will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Policy on the Site with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to all information collected through the Service, including the Site, the Extension, and any email communications sent by PriceScout. It does not apply to information collected by third-party websites or services that you may access through links provided on the Service, including retailer websites to which PriceScout directs you via affiliate links. Once you leave the Service and navigate to a third-party website, that third party's privacy policy governs any information collected from that point forward. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Voluntarily

Email Address. You may voluntarily provide your email address to subscribe to our deals newsletter or to join our waitlist. We collect your email address solely for the purpose of delivering the newsletter, product updates, and promotional communications you have opted into. We do not require account creation to use the core features of the Service.

Product URLs. When you paste a product link into the PriceScout search bar, that URL is transmitted to our servers to identify the product and retrieve comparison pricing data. Product URLs are processed transiently for the purpose of generating your price comparison results. We do not store product URLs in association with any individual user identity, session identifier, or behavioral profile.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Analytics Data. We use third-party analytics tools, including Google Analytics 4, to collect aggregated, non-personally-identifiable information about how visitors interact with the Service. This may include your IP address (which Google Analytics may truncate or anonymize), browser type, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on pages, and general geographic location (city or region level). This data is used solely to understand aggregate traffic patterns, improve site performance, and enhance the user experience. We do not use analytics data to identify, track, or profile individual users.

Cookies and Similar Technologies. The Service may use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies as deployed by our analytics and error-tracking providers. These technologies help us understand how the Service is used and detect technical errors. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may affect your experience with certain features of the Service.

Error and Performance Data. We use Sentry, a third-party error-tracking service, to monitor and diagnose technical errors in the Service. Sentry may collect technical metadata such as browser version, operating system, device information, and error stack traces. This data is used exclusively for debugging and improving the reliability of the Service.

3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

PriceScout is designed to operate with minimal data collection. For clarity, we do not collect any of the following:

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose other than those expressly described in this Policy.

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 We Do Not Sell Individual User Data

PriceScout does not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes. We do not participate in data broker transactions. For the avoidance of doubt, we do not sell your email address, your browsing activity, or any other information that could identify you as an individual.

5.2 Aggregated and Anonymized Data

PriceScout may compile and sell aggregated, anonymized market intelligence derived from pricing data collected across the Service. This may include, for example, aggregate pricing trend data, demand signals, and category-level discount patterns. This data is fully de-identified and cannot be used to identify, contact, or locate any individual user. Aggregated data licensing is a potential secondary revenue channel and does not involve the disclosure of any personal information.

5.3 Service Providers

We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including hosting (Vercel), database management (Supabase), analytics (Google Analytics), and error tracking (Sentry). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide their services to us and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes. We select providers that maintain appropriate security measures.

5.4 Affiliate Networks and Retailer Partners

When you click an affiliate link on the Service, you are directed to a third-party retailer's website. At the point of click-through, the affiliate network and/or the retailer may collect information about you in accordance with their own privacy policies. PriceScout participates in affiliate programs including, but not limited to, Amazon Associates, Impact.com, Commission Junction (CJ Affiliate), ShareASale, Rakuten Advertising, and FlexOffers. PriceScout does not transmit your personal information (such as your email address) to these networks or retailers. The affiliate link itself may contain a publisher identifier that attributes the referral to PriceScout, but it does not contain any information that identifies you personally.

5.5 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a legal obligation; (b) protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of PriceScout, our users, or the public; (c) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or (d) enforce our Terms of Service.

5.6 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Site of any change in ownership or use of your information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information.

6. Cached Price and Product Data

PriceScout retrieves and caches product pricing data from third-party retailer websites for the purpose of generating price comparisons and verdicts. This cached data is refreshed periodically, approximately every six (6) hours. Cached pricing data pertains to products, not to individual users, and is not associated with any user identity or session. PriceScout does not claim or represent that cached pricing data reflects real-time prices. Prices displayed on the Service may differ from prices displayed on a retailer's website at the time of purchase.

7. Data Retention

8. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include, but are not limited to, encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL, secure hosting infrastructure, and access controls limiting personnel access to information on a need-to-know basis.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You acknowledge that you provide information at your own risk. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities as required by law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Email Communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional email communications from PriceScout at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link included in every email we send, or by contacting us at the address provided in Section 15 of this Policy. Please note that even after you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you transactional or administrative messages related to the Service.

9.2 Cookies

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can usually adjust your browser settings to remove or reject cookies. If you choose to disable cookies, some features of the Service may not function as intended.

9.3 Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites. Because there is no universally accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. However, as described in this Policy, PriceScout does not engage in cross-site tracking of individual users.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, "CCPA"), provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information. While PriceScout may not currently meet the revenue or data-processing thresholds that trigger mandatory CCPA compliance obligations, we are committed to providing California residents with the following rights proactively and in good faith:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided in Section 15. We will verify your identity before processing your request and will respond within forty-five (45) days of receiving a verifiable request, as required by law. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

10.1 Categories of Personal Information Collected

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as those categories are defined under the CCPA:

We have not collected any other categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA.

10.2 Disclosure of Personal Information

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information to service providers for business purposes: identifiers (email addresses to Supabase for database storage) and internet activity information (to Google Analytics for analytics and Sentry for error tracking). We have not sold or shared personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

11. Email Communications and CAN-SPAM Compliance

In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, we affirm that:

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided personal information to PriceScout, please contact us immediately at the address provided in Section 15, and we will take appropriate action.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service contains links to third-party websites, including retailer websites accessed through affiliate links. These third-party sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control and for which we are not responsible. When you click an affiliate link on the Service and are directed to a retailer's website, you are subject to that retailer's privacy policy from the moment you arrive on their site. We strongly encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit. PriceScout is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third-party website.

14. International Users

The Service is operated from and directed to users in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and the processing of your information in accordance with this Policy. PriceScout does not currently target users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions outside the United States, and this Policy does not address obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent foreign data protection laws.

Material changes will not be applied retroactively. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
